A daughter of Virac garnered a share of second place in the civil engineering board examinations conducted by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) last month.

Raisa Lleue Molina Curativo, 22, got a rating of 98.95 percent, reportedly the highest ever received by a civil engineering graduate of the Bicol University-Legazpi where she finished her course early this year. She is one of the seven examinees who got the same rating. Two of her classmates also placed third with a rating of 97.90 percent, including BU cum laude Robert Christine Niebres.

The topnotcher is the eldest daughter of DPWH Engineer II Nestor M. Curativo and provincial nutrition officer Marites Molina-Curativo of Imperial Homes Subdivision, San Isidro Village, Virac.

A salutatorian at Taytay Elementary School, she is a graduate of the Catanduanes State Colleges Laboratory High School where she was fifth honorable mention.

Bambi, as she is called by friends and family, was a member of the BU team that ruled the Bicol regional eliminations of the Civil Engineering Pasiklaban Quiz this year, for which they earned free tuition during the CE review at Review Innovators in Manila.

Her sister, Riz Kylie, is also in her first year in civil engineering at BU Legazpi while the youngest in the Curativo brood, Rhexiell Justyne, is a nursery pupil at Virac Kiddie Smart Learning Center.

The new civil engineer will join the rest of the successful examinees for their oath-taking ceremony before the PRC Board of Civil Engineering this Dec. 20, 2008 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City. Only 1,672 out of 4,831, or 34.61%, passed the Civil Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Board of Civil Engineering in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi and Tacloban.
